The development challenge
Nurses and midwives deliver the majority of frontline care, yet many have limited access to advanced clinical training, simulation-based practice, leadership development and research skills. ANMII responds with accredited advanced education, structured mentorship and international partnerships that improve maternal, newborn and community health outcomes.
ANMII extends IAL-U into accredited health professional education, opening a strong international student pipeline and positioning the Institute as a partner in strengthening the regional health workforce.

First-year priorities
- Complete the institutional, regulatory and accreditation feasibility study
- Develop the ANMII curriculum and competence framework with regulators and professional councils
- Establish clinical placement and teaching-hospital partnerships
- Equip a skills and simulation laboratory
- Recruit and orient faculty, preceptors and clinical mentors
- Launch a pilot cohort of short courses and continuing professional development
Indicative first-year results
- Accreditation and regulatory pathway completed or advanced
- At least 500 nurses and midwives trained through pilot and CPD courses
- One functional skills and simulation laboratory established
- At least five clinical placement and teaching-hospital partnerships signed
- Two international academic collaborations formalised
